more food experimenting from last quarter..
i'm still in the midst of sorting out our road trip pictures down highway 1 and at vegas, so hang in there with a little more patience eh? i'll upload them soon! =)
meanwhile, more pics of my endeavours in expanding my meal menu! ^_^
French Pork Pie: I never tried anything like that before.. but this turned out really well! and it was a great way to use the ground pork we had in our freezer. =)

Spinach, Ham and Cheese quiche: this was the veggie part of the dinner pies, contrasting with the carnivorous pork pie. =P i had always liked the quiches in Delifrance, and wanted to try making one!

Another adventurous idea: Kebabs! This couple of weeks, I just decided to get creative and get away from the usual chinese stir-fry stuff. heh. the pies first, then now the kebabs!
FM putting his permutation skills into good use, deciding which ingredients to stick onto the satay sticks in what order.

hmm...... YUMMY!

油菜 with Oyster sauce and mushrooms

while shopping for our groceries in the supermarket, we saw the sauces for the spicy eggplant (渔乡茄子), and decided to give it a shot! turned out pretty authentic, though it was a little too salty... >.<
steamed egg with ground pork (at the bottom of the bowl). one of the simple but nice home-cooked dishes... =)

also during the supermarket grocery shopping, we got belachan chilli, and so sambal kangkong became a reality in the kitchen (much to darling's delight) =P so a little spicy for me.. but well, ketchup sorta neutralized the chilli. heh.

thanksgiving dinner: we had some singaporeans over at our house for pot luck dinner, and i made chicago cheesecake! found this recipe online, and so could finally try making a lighter non-new york or american-ish kinda cheesecake. and it turned out great!

another dish which i'm pretty sure went up on my darling's favs so far: Kung Bao Chicken (宫宝鸡丁)!

another typical 杂菜饭 kinda dish: stir-fry cabbage with pork. this was kinda funny. the entire cabbage ended up being so much that we had a full tupperware that lasted over several meals!!! =P

Missing Swensen's? here's some chicken baked rice! =D

A successful hor fun! thanks to mummy for the advice. worked out great!

Stirfry cabbage with mixed greens...

and for new year's eve, we had a group of SGeans over at our place again. FM had longed for bruschetta after we had it at a party once, so we found a recipe for it to make him a satisfied boy! =D so we made bruschetta dip for the appetizer... and chicken pot pie for entree. it was an amazing dinner - plus the jap curry, fried wanton and red bean soup that the rest made for the pot luck!!!
