Study Trip to Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden

as you might have heard, jas and i recently spent a week in sweden on a study trip to karolinska institutet in stockholm, sweden to find out abt their phd program and listen to many of their top investigators talk abt their current research.Travelling with a big group of friends is always fun. But unfortunately the 18 of us had only an afternoon to roam around town before we were to begin 2 long days of lectures by top investigators in each of the departments/networks in KI.
Churches, palaces, Vasa Museum, Old Town (Gamla Stan). I don't have much experience in european travel but its seems as though most european towns are rather similar to a uneducated (and prob uncivilized, in their opinion) layperson like me. big stone buildings are big stone buildings, despite the many intricate differences between this brick color and that.
We visited the famous Ice Bar in Nordic Sea Hotel, Stockholm to get a diluted taste of Absolute Vodka mixes served in ice mugs in a chilly bar set at -5°C permanently.
Everything in the bar has one of the Absolute Vodka flavors as its main base. Small wonder: Absolut is one of the few major Sweden export that we are familiar with...
Do note though that all the mugs we drink out of, and tables and chairs and fake walls are made out of ice. Its constantly melting despite the constant air conditioning. I guess they replace the place rather frequently. Its also by the same pple who creates the annual Ice Hotel in the village Jukkasjärvi, 200 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle in Sweden. So I guess this gives them regular practice throughout the year.
