eventful day...

lost half of my heart today, who left for duke to start her junior year. take care girl, and have a good year of sch ahead.

almost tore my diaphragm at city hall "chopsticks" field. was breathing so hard after ten fifteen mins of ultimate frisbee. cant believe i only "sweated" twice in this long summer stay: once at RI for frisbee with class and this session. and im like damn lousy lahz. screwed up the white team cuz i lost even simple throws. hope i can be back next few fridays before i leave again. and thanks ernest for the intro to the group. nice experience overall.

bumped into yanxi and her bf at kenny rogers after that. this is the time when pple around me are all university graduates and starting work, and she is one too. working at accenture now. hard to believe she reads this site. =) now at least i know one source of my regular traffic. anyway hope she'll drop me an sms cuz i didnt get her hp.

i do hope that pple give comments here. are my tots so boring? :p anyway ive been getting site traffic only 4 days out of the past week. weirdz.

maybe ill go sleep soon. maybe not. see how... sianz........ 1am

looking forward to the next stop: Winter Trip 2005 - Italy... =)

a tribute to my memories... 对你说

this song evokes really wonderful memories of my jc 华会 life... and of all the wonderful close friends i made there. =) thanks pple for the great memories.

对你说 - a song from the RJC CLDCS Song-Writing Section. Lyrics and Tune written by Mag and Mel Huang.

lonely fears light up the sky...

have been meeting up with old classmates, huahui friends, random pals from random places. more has been planned with army friends and more random pple...

its always nice to meet old friends. to share the "good old memories", while hearing how others have lived the past few years without ur presence. seeing how pple changed, and where pple didnt. sometimes, things does appear to have never changed, in spite of the passing of years...

but, i couldnt help but feel that beyond this surface, shallow interaction, the true deep relationships are no longer there. the intimacy is gone... possibly forever...

pple come, pple go. but will i still be able to make similarly close friends? i can only hope and pray...

best wishes to everyone...

National Day @ Helipad, Swissotel The Stamford Singapore

singapore really has a very beautiful night scenary. and that bloody extra must stand there and spoil everyone's view...

at equinox, a nice ice sculpture celebrating singapore's 40th...

fireworks from marina south. we actually had a better view of those fireworks than padang's because we were too close and too high to appreciate padang's fireworks...

but all in all, it was still an enjoyable evening...

quiet times...

its a quiet period on the blogosphere around me... everyone is busy, and afriad of repercussions.
why bother blogging? call me out for a nice long dinner and coffee and we can complain abt everything under the sun...

but, you do notice that most places in singapore u cannot see the sun right? eg inside all buildings, offices, labs... dont complain about those and anything that happens in them, ok? we complain abt singapore weather can already. as i quote from a recent Nature News Feature (Vol 436 dated 11 Aug 2005 page 768): "The only thing I can't control is the weather." well, if its uncontrollable, that means we can complain abt it since nobody's at fault!

heard some other news recently. remember the commando drowning incident? chief of the commandoes some colonel something can immediately removed from the post after the incident. i heard (disclaimer: all this is FICTION) that he was head of some dept at 2 PDF. and he recently posted out overseas (disclaimer: all this is FICTION) as a military attache. not bad for someone who had to sacrifice his head for the country. i wonder if the family of the dead servicemen knew all these. and from the news, i bet some heads are gonna roll too after an NSF died from some unknown bacterial infection. sigh. no wonder medical doctors need to earn tens of thousands a month, so that they can afford 2 mercs, 1 BMW, expensive medical neglience insurance and with money left over to pay for phone bills for all the hospital calls (i wonder can still claim or not).

past weeks have been exciting. photos of national day from rooftop/helipad of swissotel will be coming up soon. was at east coast park today for cycling, frisbee and pool with jas's jc class. yesterday was at huifang's 21st birthday party at aloha loyang (SO ULU!!!) but still had fun as the unofficial party host for a few of her frens. =)

time is flying by... im halfway thru my attachment, jas is 2 weeks frm flying back. sigh...

thinking of that just spoils my mood... nothing else to say liao...

fm is sick... =(

sick is not fun. esp when ur calendar for the next few days (at least) looks so happening...

started with a mild fever from monday which lasted all the way till now, and i was developing a sore throat today. not to mention the headaches which feels like someone squashing some brain-juice for breakfast.

lab work is getting busier, where my post-doc (actually he's more senior than a postdoc, he's a research associate, but addressing him that way sounds weird. :p) is finally giving my some real work of my own, and not merely staring at him do and waiting for darling to come down to visit.

sat morning (730am! oh gosh, i forgot that there are still pple starting work at that unearthly hour) is the RJC Scholarship Day, and im gg down to see see look look and stand in front of booth and act pretty for half a day (or a full day, no idea).

sat night is the ABSOLUTE: Reality 2006 @ Zouk organised by U of Chicago and UPenn, a party where drunken US college students meet and exchange saliva... yah right, dream on... more like where pple take 2 sips and leave sober and wondering why they bothered to go. see and be seen? :p dont ask me why im going. hahaha...

if im still sick after tmr ill be a dumb (read: stupid) dumb (read: voiceless) signpost for a*. and if im still sick by night i wont be able to drink happily. sigh...

why is heaven so cruel to me???

and oh, did i add that i was soaked frm midthigh down today while going to work, despite an umbrella and having sheltered pathways frm house till mrt. aaahhhhh.... worse is my soaked socks, which meant my feet emerged pale white and sickly by the time i get home (830pm, early day today).

and wellsfargo (my us bank) made me mad with its stupid police of credit limits, my house cordless phone drove me crazy when it dieded on me halfway thru my v019 calls to the bank. icing on the cake: my housing in sd still unresolved. and im destined to pay a bomb for it. sighhh.... shld have gotten a room on-campus and save my current headaches (and future ones too, esp regarding meals). how to save money for travel? =(

sigh... it doesnt pay to be sick. =(

p/s: on hindsight this post shld be "my litany of complaints" hor... :p
