darling had lunch with her lab today, leaving me free to roam for lunch.
"simply wonderful," i tot. nasi lemak at holland v, followed by a nice tiramisu mudpie at coffee club. bought a copy of national geographic to read leisurely through lunchtime. finally experiencing the "holiday" "break" im suppose to be enjoying now.
what could go wrong? well, one could easily lose his biopolis temp ID card while enjoying his bliss. and i can tell u from personal experience that it sux.
i had to retrace my steps the entire way: bus to holland road, visited the nasi lemak store (which, btw, serves wonderful chilli paste), went coffee club, and bus back again. like a scrooge's christmas nightmare, where all the things he did wrong were pointed out to him, in stark detail.
just finished a southern blot. i have to go to holland v again to make a police report. sigh... too much hassle that is not worth the trouble.
lesson learnt? dont count ur blessings before the end of the day. the supposedly good stuff may just turn around and bite ur backside.
and of course, time away from darling just spells disaster. =P
update: it was S$30 wasted. although i did get to have a little adventure trying to take a shortcut from biopolis to holland v through shoulder height bushes and trespassing malaysian land (ie the railway tracks)... got my jeans, shoes and socks thoroughly soaked with stagnant water. worse, i didnt managed to get through it. backed off like a wounded soldier and took the path-oft-travelled instead. =-(
update2: and oh, i did get to chat with 2 nice female police officers at the buona vista npp. flying cockroaches are a great ice breaker. ;-)
