ophir...

sorry pple for the long drought in posts... we have both been really really busy with work and meeting up with friends and spending time with family and spending time with each other and spending time having fun and spending time resting and.... yah, u get the drift.
anyway, we went for a short trek up mount ophir (gunung ledang) in johor, malaysia two weekends ago. here's a few nice nice photos for ur viewing pleasure... =)
sunrise at the summit. the most practical reason for climbing any mountain. =)

we left sg early friday morning. 8.30am express bus frm JB Larkin Bus Terminal to Tengkah and another normal bus to the resort at the foot of the hill. started going uphill at ard 2pm. this initial climb was relatively easy. reached campsite (CP4) at ard 4pm and set up camp. early dinner and slept by 9pm. was to leave campsite for the climb to summit at 3am+. 3hr climb up. more challenging with steeper ascent. reach summit just before sunrise.
unfortunately, we didnt have any photos before reaching the summit cuz cameras were in the bag. so all photos here are after reaching the summit.
sigh.... the start of the long downhill trek. sianz man. ill rather climb up than go down. bad for knees!

climbing between stones...

action-mama... steep climb up this several-metre tall smooth stone face...

our nice nice tent. a real luxury...

we have this really pretty little stream by our campsite... water is deeper than it looks, prob midthigh deep, but i was standing on a huge ledge of rock hiding inside the water...

one reason why we are nature lovers...

but on the way down, a leech fell on jas, who immediately felt it and swatted it off. creeps me out. haha...
after the journey: back at checkpt 1 with our guide for the two days...

trek completed.

anyway, hope i didnt make this climb sound too siong, cuz it really isnt. :p
