Bloggers (esp scholars): beware what you say online...

recently there has been two incidents in singapore papers involving scholars and none of them are pleasant. first, the news report on bond-breakers, one of which showcased an ex-a* scholar. for more info read the original The New Paper article and see a*'s website for the agency's perspective.

and just yesterday (Apr 17's Sunday Times) a PSC scholar friend of mine got into trouble for making racist remarks in his password-protected blog site. apparently, "He used words like 'repulsive' to describe some races, and talked about their 'irksome features'." some bitch "actually compiled a dossier of the posts and e-mailed them to the PSC and the media."

Thus, a word of warning to all friends: be especially careful of what you say on the internet. u cant even hide behind passwords. or supposed anonymity. and apparently by signing that scholarship deed means that you are now the exemplary example of what an ideal human being is. so stop complaining and start behaving like lky or gch, do ur bsc+phd in 4 years and serve ur duty to the nation with a smile plastered to ur face. and quit spending time on blogs because everything u bitch about (and all ur emails and survey forms and everything u have ever touched after u signed that deed)
will be recorded and used against you in the future shld u not comply with them anymore...

what are u waiting for then? get them a 4.0 GPA NOW!!!
